Birth of a Church!!!

 

 INAUGURATION OF MOUNT MAKULU SOUTH SDA COMPANY TO MOUNT MAKULU SOUTH SDA CHURCH

 

17^TH MAY 2015

 

PRESIDING PASTOR – JOHNNIE NAMWAKO – LUSAKA CONFERENCE

DISTRICT PASTOR – HAMUSOKWE HAMUSOKWE

 

After song service, opening song number 199 local, opening prayer and special song by Adventist Youths, the District Pastor introduced Pastor Namwako and  invited him to start the ceremony. Pastor Namwako gave an overview of  the Adventist  Fundamental Beliefs and Benediction.

 

1. The Nucleus of the Church represented by people who were there when the Company started was identified as:

 

1.                                  i.            Sister Lucentia Milimo,
2.                                ii.            Elder Louis Binda and
3.                               iii.            Elder Peter Mulela.

 

1. Voting in of members

The Register of Baptised members was called and members were voted in.  The initial listing consisted of 155 members.

 

Having exceed the number of 25 members present Pastor Johnnie Namwako stated that the Company qualified to be a Church

 

1. Choosing of Church Officers

The pastor called for a list of seven baptized members. The following were proposed and seconded:

3.                               iii.            Elder Phillip Chindongo
4.                              iv.            Elder Nakambe Mulambwa
5.                                v.            Sister Milcah Takaniza

These formed the nominating committee.

 

1. The Pastor directed the Committee to initially nominate four Elders and vote in three with one having the highest votes being the Administrative Elder and assisted by the one with the next highest votes. The result was:

   2.                                ii.            Elder Nakambe Mulambwa – Associate Elder
   3.                               iii.            Elder Davies Mweembela –Elder

1. A motion to be received in the sisterhood of Churches was proposed.  A challenge question was responded to by the Admin Elder.  The ceremony ended with a declaration that Mount Makulu South SDA Company was now a fully fledged Church and will be accepted into the sisterhood of churches at the next Conference.
