Mount Makulu South SDA Church
We wish to welcome you to Mount Makulu South Seventh Day Adventist Church Site. We do hope and pray that you wiill enjoy your visit at this site. Mount Makulu South SDA Company was started by Mount Makulu Main SDA Church. The Church orgnised the area into Zones. The area of Mount Makulu South Company was Zone One. Between 2006 and 2008 the zone was organized through the leadership of Elder Louis Binda with Secretary as Brother Chikalema Kwenje.
The Zone had eleven families with 35 Baptised members and 19 none Baptised members. This report was given to the Main Church with the then Personal Ministries leader Elder Webster Namakobo. This encouraged the mother church to organize a crusade.
The crusade was held in 2008 under the theme “It is almost time”. The Speakers were Evangelist Felix Kawisa and Evangelist Kenneth Sejani. Crusaders were Evangelist Sheleni, Evangelist Mwinga, Evangelist Daniel Donga and Evangelist John Mweemba who is late. Following this crusade 31 members were baptized. The Branch was formed on 20th September 2008.
The Branch was named Mount Makulu South and was founded at Plot number 7554 (Elder Louis Binda’s farm). The main church, under the leadership of Elder Mangala Habanyama and Elder Sikazwe Mwale elected two leaders; Elder Louis Binda assisted by Elder Peter Mulela.
The branch had no structure in which to worship. Members gathered under a tree until some time when Elder Binda offered space at his farm and the Main Church supported in building a temporary structure.
In 2011 Mount Makulu Branch became a Company under the leadership of Elder Phillip Chindongo Assisted by Elder Davies Majiko Mweembela. During this period many activities took place. In 2012 the Company organized an effort from 7th October to 20th October whose theme was “Reasoning with God”. The main Speakers were Elder Hudson Beenzu, the second speaker was Elder Justin Machila. Interpreter was Evangelist Daniel Donga. The effort resulted in the baptism of 31 members
On 3rd November 2013 Adventist Men Organisation (AMO) organized an Audio, Eye and General Health Clinic program. The seven member staff came from Rainball Clinic, led by Elder Dr Wamunyima. This programme captured 97 people through screening, health tests and counsel. The majority came from different denominations.
From 15th June 2014 to 5th July 2014 Dorcas Workers conducted a crusade whose theme was “Give me Jesus”. The main speakers were Evangelist Whisper Mukupwa, second speaker was Elder Philip Kasaila, interpreter was Evangelist Alexander Chirwa. Crusaders were Evangelist Malilwa, Evangelist Sheleni and Evangelist Nkabika. Following this crusade 37 members were baptized.
From 2008 to 2012 the company managed to find and purchase a piece of land from Sister Beatrice Chisenga. This is where the Effort and the Dorcas Crusade were conducted. The Company has built toilets and the River Side Farm Institute donated a “One Day Church” structure. This structure is currently nearing completion.
The Company would like to thank all those who supported it from the beginning up to now Spiritually, mentally, physically and materially. God Bless us all.
